Below is a list of classes with a description offered at Steppin' Time.
Pre-ballet and Tap Combination
Classes: This program works with children ages 2 to 5 to develop their
imagination, space, body and directional awareness. The focus begins with body
awareness and co-ordination in an environment that is filled with fun and action.
As the children progress they are taught basic dance movements and skills in ballet
and tap through dancing, singing and dance oriented games.
Tap: Intricate rhythms, challenging combinations,
and fast footwork to fit to your age level.
Jazz: Technical choreography to all styles
of music. Combinations, routines, stretching and technique taught.
Lyrical: Routines and combinations that
focus on technique and expression of emotion through dance.
|
Hip Hop: The latest steps
from the actual R&B, pop and rap video choreography.
Ballet: Technical Choreography which
focuses on control, posture and strength. Ballet complements all styles of
dance. Our program uses the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) ballet syllabus
which originated in England and is taught world-wide. The basis of ballet
technique is the turned-out position of the legs and feet. Our ballet classes
work on improving alignment, strength, flexibility and musicality. Ballet
pointe classes are available to those students who, at the discretion of the
Ballet instructor, are recognized to be ready.
Highland: Highland dances of Scotland require
both athletic and artistic skill and are danced both informally and in competition.
Dance exams are offered in R.A.D. Ballet and
Al Gilbert and Adapt Tap and Jazz.
